Chelsea Batten is an itinerant journalist and photographer. She lives on the road, collecting the extraordinary stories that take place under the cover of ordinary life. In collaboration with friends around the country, she runs a project called The Connoisseurs. Half documentary, half travel blog, it highlights the hard-won insights and specialty knowledge of people who deserve to be famous. People also hire her to write compelling copy about travel, music, and other important things. She prefers bourbon over scotch, has frequent dreams of flying, and is always the last one to leave the dance floor.

Jim Hopkinson spent many years in the corporate world, using precious vacation time to escape his home base in New York City to explore destinations such as Costa Rica, London, South Africa, and Japan. But since starting his own business in 2011, the published author, speaker, and teacher has fully embraced his location-independent lifestyle, kicking off New Years Day 2012 from Buenos Aires, and exploring the mountains, cities, and beaches of Thailand in September.
As a travel blogger, he possesses a full arsenal of skills: storytelling chops as an author, writer, and podcaster, social media and marketing skills from Conde Nast Publications, and a love of photos, video, and technology from working at Wired.com.

Gillian and Jason definitely have a bad case of the travel bug. Having travelled to a combined 24 countries (most of those together in the past 4 years), they have found that the world has many unique accommodation opportunities and they plan on continuing to seek them out.
Recently having left their ‘home and native land’ again, they are currently in Thailand plotting their next Giant Step.
