The Coral Springs Resort gives guests a chance to relax in a home away from home setting, by offering condos in a comfortable setting. Located in Hurricane, Utah – not far from St. George – makes Coral Springs the perfect base for exploring nearby Zion National Park and the Red Cliffs National Conservation Area.

We stayed in a 3-bedroom and 2-bathroom condo with a west view that could easily host 2 families or one large family. With ample space, a full kitchen, indoor fireplace, balcony with outdoor fireplace/grill, and a master bath deep-jetted tub, the Coral Springs Resort is set up for relaxation.

Having a full-kitchen in the condo was wonderful. It was stocked with everything needed for cooking with basic pots, pans, and dishes. There were a few basic spices as well.

The swimming pool was heated to the perfect temperature and the outdoor hot tub made for a nice place to enjoy the evening stars. There’s also an indoor pool/hot tub, gym, tennis court, and basketball court for guests to enjoy (be sure to bring your own basketball, tennis racket, and tennis balls though).

Unfortunately the check-in process was difficult since the door code that was provided was incorrect. That, coupled with initial internet issues on the first night and not being able to get in touch with staff, made for a frustrating time. Luckily the site manager made a personal visit to the condo to make sure our needs were met. The internet issues ended up being city-wide on behalf of the internet provider and not the fault of the resort.

HOTEL HIGHLIGHTS

Condo from US$199-$399 per night. Price includes use of swimming pool, tennis courts, basketball court, gym, and clubhouse.

– Gazing up at the stars from the perfectly heated outdoor pool and hot tub.
– Having a real home away from home with a full kitchen, living room, and balcony.
– The in-condo washer and dryer was a plus.

– Issues with wifi connectivity both the first night and the final morning during my stay. The local internet service provider was having problems city-wide so Coral Springs wasn’t at fault.
– Pool towels were not provided or offered for rental.

The Sunflower Hill Inn is nestled in a quiet neighborhood, just a stone’s throw from downtown Moab and a short drive from the gorgeous Arches National Park. This luxurious country-style bed and breakfast made for a wonderful weekend getaway to recharge and relax after enjoying the numerous activities in the area.

Staying in the Sunporch luxury room was a treat. With a private entrance, private patio, and extra large jetted tub, it made for a very comfortable stay at the Sunflower Hill Inn. Little details in the Great Room such as the movie library, guidebooks to peruse, board games, homemade cookies, and other snacks made Sunflower Hill feel like home. The 2-acre property made the bed and breakfast feel like a retreat despite its close proximity to the center of Moab.

The morning breakfast menu had a nice variety of options, from scrambled eggs, fresh orange juice, yogurt, and hearty Irish oatmeal. I was pleasantly surprised when the staff provided handcrafted vegan French toast to accommodate my plant-based diet. The blueberry and raspberry fruit syrup was tasty as well.

Although we encountered in-room wifi issues the first night, the staff made sure that we had a solid internet connection during our stay. Sunny skies made for a nice atmosphere at the Sunflower Hill Inn, even with the cooler temperatures of February. In the warmer months, guests can enjoy the pool and the surrounding gardens. With Arches National Park just a short drive away and Canyonlands National Park perfectly suited for a daytrip, you’ll have plenty to do in the region.

HOTEL HIGHLIGHTS

From US$130 for classic rooms per night ranging to $281 for luxury rooms, prices are seasonally dependent. Includes country breakfast, use of pool/hot tubs, and additional amenities.

– An overall great stay. It’s the perfect location to relax and explore the region.
– Feeling welcome and comfortable from the get-go till our departure. The staff was consistently kind and attentive.
– The details at Sunflower Hill Inn were easy to note. The snacks and homemade cookies, nightlight leading the way to the washroom, and fresh cut flowers in the room made for an inviting stay.

– Wifi didn’t work the first night, but the innkeeper resolved the issue.
– We tried enjoying the outdoor hot tub, but unfortunately the jets weren’t working. Luckily the Sunporch room had a large in-room jetted tub.

As someone who grew up in Eugene, staying at Inn at the 5th during the holidays was a wonderful opportunity to experience my hometown as a tourist. The beautiful holiday decorations in the lobby and the kind staff made for a warm welcome. The Inn is located at the 5th Street Market, which has a number of up-scale shops and restaurants to enjoy.

My deluxe king room was very comfortable with a fireplace, a reading nook, and sitting area. The refrigerator, coffee maker, and bathroom night-light made my room feel a bit more like home. The walk-in shower was luxurious, but I was hoping to soak in a tub.

When I’m traveling, one of my favorite ways to spend time is to exercise and Inn at the 5th made that easy. It’s a great location for runners and walkers, as there is close access to nice trail options. The Willamette River Walk is perfect for a stroll, rain or shine, and Pre’s Trail makes for an excellent running path on the soft bark and mulch surface. The on-site exercise room is a great option as well.

If you’re looking to relax, be sure to visit the on-site Gervais Spa & Salon, where you can have a complimentary sauna visit. They provide an array of services, in addition to in-room treatments such as massages.

I liked the sophisticated and local feel of Inn at the 5th. The exercise room has a Steve Prefontaine quote, which made for an excellent nod to Eugene’s status of “TrackTown USA”. Marché, the restaurant that provides room service, has French-inspired Pacific northwest cuisine. The in-room butler pantry, extra cozy king bed, and valet parking made Inn at the 5th feel even more luxurious and comfortable.

HOTEL HIGHLIGHTS

From US$189, includes complimentary sauna, gym, and in-town transport (if available). Does not include parking or breakfast.

– Prime location in the heart of Eugene. Close to shops, restaurants, and attractions like the Willamette River walk.
– Comfortable room with a lovely fireplace, perfect during the rainy winter months.
– The Gervais Spa & Salon on the first floor — the complimentary sauna access was a surprise treat.

– There wasn’t a tub in my room. I’d been dreaming of soaking in a tub.

In the heart of downtown, very close to the Chicago River and Lake Michigan, is the modern boutique Kinzie Hotel. It’s a small hotel that’s on a quieter street downtown.

At Kinzie, they put a focus on good design and simple elegance, from the hotel art, to the beautiful silver and white downtown Chicago maps on the room walls, to the postcards left in every room, the wallpaper, and the furnishings throughout the hotel. If you want a clean, contemporary hotel in downtown Chicago this is it. Everything is simple, yet super comfortable.

Breakfast is served on each floor instead of only in the lobby, which I think is a treat. You only have to walk a few steps out your door with your breakfast tray. If you’re like me and you enjoy delicious food, you’ll also love the Chicago food scene that starts right outside the hotel front door. The even better news is that you have a mini fridge where you can store your leftovers. When you’re feeling a bit guilty from all that delicious food you’ve consumed and you aren’t tired from wandering the streets, there is a 24-hour fitness center in the hotel.

Kinzie’s customer service philosophy is “we get it” and it shows. They are extremely polite and accommodating to requests. They are on stand-by to open doors, heat up your leftovers, answer your questions and help you with whatever you need, including restaurant suggestions or calling a ride.

HOTEL HIGHLIGHTS

From US$112, includes continental breakfast and evening reception.

– Evening reception with drinks and appetizers from 5-8.
– Blackout blinds for a good night’s rest.
– In-room spa service and dog-friendly rooms.

– It’s in the city so you do get some traffic noise but it’s located on a smaller, less traveled street.
– Rooms on the lower floors don’t have the skyline views.
